How to set up fully-automated background file transferring?


1. On the xTyFTP main window, click the Connect button to bring up the login screen:



2. On the login screen, click New button, fill in login information and click the Connect button to test the connection (Don't forget to check Save Password. If you don't connection cannot be made when it runs in the background.):



3. Click the Schedule button to bring up the xTyFTP Task Manager



4. On the xTyFTP Task Manager screen, click the New Task button to select the connection you just tested above and click OK.



5. On the xTyFTP Task Manager screen, change the task name if you want, fill in the configuration you want and click the Save Changes button to save the task configuration.



6. If you want the task to run automatically in the background, click the Schedule button to set the schedule. When you are done, click Close and quit xTyFTP. If the task is set correctly, it will run on time as long as the computer is not shutdown.



7. You can also create a shortcut to the task on your Desktop or Quick Launch Bar, so that when you have files to send or receive just click or double click the shortcut. In order to create a shortcut, select or create the task you want and click the Create Shortcut button and follow the instructions.

8. You can modify the tasks at any time. For example, if you want to change your FTP account password (Connection Settings), enable E-Mail Notification or other options, you can click one of the buttons and make the changes. Don't forget the click Save Changes to save any changes.
